Jake Hesseltine is an established photographer in San Diego County and is one of the 3 founders of 3 Hot Shoes. Jake has always had a passion for sports and found his start in photography over 10 years ago shooting and selling images of professional surfers to major surf industry sponsors and sports publications. His passion for an active lifestyle, his love for photography, along with his entrepreneurial drive has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world while getting paid to do what he loves. Along with being a co-founder of 3 Hot Shoes, Jake owns and operates his own successful photography company, Local Focus Photography, which specializes in event (sporting, corporate, and private) photography and business imagery.
Jake is energetic, professional and truly dedicated to his profession and community. Growing up in Solana Beach, he developed and maintained a deep connection with his home town. He learned early on the importance of giving back and continues to cultivate his connections to Solana Beach and San Diego County.
Jake was hired by the City of Solana Beach in 1998 as an Ocean Lifeguard and has been involved with the agency and ocean awareness ever since. He belongs to and has served leadership terms with the Solana Beach Lifeguard Association which strives to help the community through ocean safety education, beach clean-ups, and volunteering for city events.
Along with his love for the ocean, Jake loves kids and has been extremely involved with Solana Beach Junior Lifeguard Program as a lifeguard and also volunteering time and prints as a photographer. Jake is also an active member of the Civic and Historic Society of Solana Beach, an organization dedicated to preserving the city's history while nurturing its growth.
